Recently we hosted with other fellow fashion bloggers-Katie Anderson of Modern-Eve and Molly Meetz of Pretty in Pink at Mockingbird Station‘s “What to Wear “Event. Fall trends were on display with stylish pieces from selected retailers including Movida, Urban Outfitters, Ann Taylor Loft, and Francesca’s. Wallflower Management models were  runway ready as they were outfitted in layered fall looks by the oh so stylish Abby Gregory, who knows all too well her way around a runway! Our makeover candidates were also looking stylish as they strutted their new looks down the catwalk! Check out all the looks on the “What to Wear” Slideshow.

The fashionable crowd was kept in tune with spins by DJ Joe Vega and complimentary light bites and speciality cocktails (the September Issue was amazingly delicious!)  were offered up by the People’s Last Stand.

Where Wear in the City with Katie Anderson of Modern Eve & Molly Meetz of Pretty in Pink

Saturday night was fashion hot as the World Trade Mart showcased Dallas’ first Designer’s Choice Fashion Preview benefitting the Genesis Women’s Shelter. Colorful lights along with a white hot runway set the stage for what was sure to be a fashion crowd pleaser! Runway collections each began with introductory videos from each of the designers’ telling of their personal fashion journeys and what inspires them most. The designers each showcased a runway collection designed uniquely to fit their fashion taste and styles. Local Dallas designers included: Lori Veith, Candace Locke, Andre Terry, Stephanie Thomas, Becca Jett, Tanesa Peterson, Antoni Michelle, Megan McKinney, Elwood Shannon and Project Runway’s Korto Momolu who served as host along with emcee-Amy Vanderoef of GMT.

Models were outfitted  in bright colors and patterns, retro and couture pieces, coupled by the simplistic of looks. The Andre Terry Collection definitely had heads turning opening with a male dominated ballet performance then rocking the runway with his manifold of men’s and women’s looks! As Dallas’ makes it’s fashion way on the map, we hope to preview more from these desingers on our local fashion scene. Stay tuned!
